Call for Papers: Undergraduate Conference on the Middle East Held in Qatar

The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar recently announced its First Annual Undergraduate Conference on Middle Eastern Studies, organized by the University’s Middle Eastern Studies Student Association (MESSA).  The conference will provide undergraduate students from across the globe with an opportunity to present and discuss their work with peers and faculty, as well as networking opportunities with regional luminaries.

The conference aims to encourage original research amongst undergraduate students relating to the field of Middle Eastern studies. The conference is seeking outstanding students from different disciplines in their penultimate and final years of their undergraduate studies who are interested in presenting a paper. Possible submissions can include a senior thesis, a capstone project, or a research paper concerning the Middle East.  The conference will be held from 25 to 27 of May, 2012 in Doha, Qatar.

For this first conference, MESSA is pleased to announce that funding has been secured, and all costs related to air travel, accommodation, and meals will be covered.
