Submissions Guidelines

MEI’s publications adhere to the Chicago Style and use the footnotes and bibliography system (rather than the author-date system).

For transliterations of Arabic, Persian, and Turkish words, please use the IJMES guide.

For Insights, the online essay series, please aim to keep your submissions between 1,000 and 2,000 words.

For articles for the Singapore Middle East Papers, please aim for a length of 5,000 to 8,000 words (excluding footnotes).
